Additional Sling Media SlingLink Turbo Powerline Kit ( SL200-100 ) Information

If you're like most people, you don't have an Ethernet jack right next to your television - or a hot tub in the living room for that matter. And while having both would be splendid, the SlingLink can at least resolve one of those dilemmas. The SlingLink TURBO brings network connectivity to any electrical wall outlet, making it ideal for the modern living room. With four switched ports, it connects your Slingbox, game console, DVR, computer or anything with an Ethernet jack. And it's compatible with any home router. Just plug one SlingLink TURBO into the wall near your router, and plug in the other SlingLink TURBO wherever you have your Slingbox installed, and voila! You're connected to the Internet.

What Customers Say About Sling Media SlingLink Turbo Powerline Kit ( SL200-100 ):

It looks pretty ancient-- the wall sockets are set in the six inch oak baseboards. I don't even have a slingbox. Most recently I had it connectd with a long ethernet cord but I was a bit tired of worrying about the dogs deciding to eat it. I'm not sure when (if ever the wiring has been updated. Maybe I ought to think about ordering a Slingbox also. I had also tried a wireless option but the number of wireless networks surrounding me started to interfere with my connection.

Anyway, I connected one unit to the router and the other to the neuros OSD Media Center. I was looking for a way to connect a Neuros OSD Media Center (6011000)to my router. Other sockets are set in the floor). What I am working with: a Verizon broadband connection with a three year old Netgear wireless router. The house was build approximately 1912 with four floors. I then picked up the remote and it was already connected.

This may or may not work for you. My Dish reciever is downstairs in another section of my house. I've got it working in my house. I've got a Netgear router upstairs in my bonus room hooked up to a Charter Cable box. The Slinglink Turbo works fairly well; however, if I plug anything else into certain outlets in my bonus room, the whole connection basically just fails. So be aware of what you have plugged into other outlets as it might cause the whole thing to fail.

It is on the far end of the house from the router, and it works great. I was skeptical when I bought this, I have been working with computers and electronics for 10 years and I could not imagine that it would work. But I had a room that I need to make into an office, with no way of running network into it. It is on a seperate circuit then the router, but no issues, like other reviews say, I saw on their website that as long as it is on the same phase (power line from the road) you would not have an issue. My Network performance is as good as if I plugged it directly into the router.

Truly a "plug and play" device. The only issue is you have to plug the network end into the router directly. I have an older sling box the was close to my router. After moving it to another room this device solved my wireing problems. Going through a hub first won't work. Other than that, no problems what so ever.

Set up was so easy, 5 minutes at most and I was able to hook up my Dish receiver to the internet to download movies, and it works flawlessly.
